Growing in Faith

GROWING IN FAITH

There are regular opportunities at the Good Shepherd for those wanting to explore the Christian faith, and for those wanting to grow in faith and fellowship with other Christians.

Emmaus Course – ideal for those who would like to learn more about the Christian faith and what it means to be a Christian. The next course begins in the summer. Do contact us if you are interested.

Alpha Course – organised by our neighbouring parish of All Saints, Boyne Hill.

G.I.F.T. Group (Growing in Faith Together)

This group was set up with the needs and interests of those adults confirmed in recent years particularly in mind.  It is open to anyone else who would like to join us.  We meet on Thursday evenings once a month, arrivng at 7.45pm to start at 8pm.

Pilgrim Courses - More recently we have been using the Church of England's Pilgrim Courses, including the Lord's Prayer Course and The Creeds Course.  We used 'Turning to Christ' as a means of preparing for Confirmation last autumn.

Last summer we did 'The Bible' course and we are now doing another of the Pilgrim courses to prepare people for Confirmation.   Please contact the Church Office for more information or to sign up.

Lent Courses -  Every year a Lent course is organised.  Where possible afternoon and evening groups are offered.  Recent courses we have done include:

‘Exploring the Void’ - a course based on the film ‘Touching the Void’
‘Life Attitudes’ - a course on The Beatitudes
‘Everyday Bread’ – a course on the Eucharist

'Finding a Voice' - a course based on the film 'The King's Speech
